OUR STORY
Growing up in the seaside town of Halifax, Nova Scotia, life was simple and everything was fresh and local. With my family owning a grocery and restaurant business, our kitchen was held to a very high standard. Many dinner conversations revolved around how to offer customers better service, better value, and most importantly, a better product. Giving customers something they couldn’t find anywhere else was how you differentiated yourself in a crowded market.
Fast forward a couple decades and my lifetime passion to bake continues. It seems our oldest daughter also caught the baking bug, as she started wearing her first apron around the time she turned three. We baked together every week and she loved granola, so we set on the path to create a recipe that would become a family favorite. Everything was adjusted over the years from the ratio of oats to nuts to fruit, trying different seeds and grains, adjusting oven temperatures and experimenting with different oils and sweeteners. Many years later we thought it was perfected and decided to make gift bags for the holidays. We needed a brand name and what better than to use our daughter’s middle name, Ivy. After someone described it as Gourmet Granola, we decided to add the word Gourmet, and that is how Ivy’s Gourmet was born!

If you take from the community, you should give back to the community. There is never a gift too small. So a big part of Ivy’s will be around giving back.
Ivy's partners with local charities by helping them raise funds, as their supporters enjoy our Gourmet Granola. We also donate to the local services in and around our town as our way of saying 'thank you' for your hard work and dedication. We hope to expand our list of charitable partners as we grow our baking operations.
